Well, having spent a glorious Sunday morning at Columbia Road flower market in London’s east end. I think we can finally assume that Summer has truly arrived.
As I submerged myself amongst fragrant and delicious blooms, strappy heals, and ‘punters’ sipping Pims. I was struck by the timely offerings from top fashion designers. Paisley is hot at the moment, check out Valentino, not to mention high street brands like Zara, Net-a- porter and even M&S.
Accessories are straight from the 60’s, tassel bags and hippy sunglasses, think John Lennon, velvet underground, Cool aid acid test, Lucy in the sky and Sassoon’s Karma bums (a bit more urban). I cant help feeling that this relaxed, but eclectic season must lead to ‘free love’ for our hair.
At Jo Sutherland Colours will be muted, moving away from the metallic blondes and global applications enjoyed in the Winter. Beachy blondes, rose golds, smoked coffee beans with lavender smoke are the order of the day.
“Hair must be relaxed, natural with a gesture of movement, Plaits are still with us, but messy and used as a styling technique. Lux oil restorative mask combined with SP Sun block will be cocktailed to eliminate frizz give control and protect hair during the heady days of summer.”
